And now for something completely different: Time trial data collection

This has nothing to do with TTS, but I'll share it anyway.

I've been collecting data from the Time trial #23 at Trial Mountain today. Once every hour from 10.00 to 18.00 I collected the data from the Gran-Turismo.com website, to make a graph of the changes over time.

The graph below is showing the result. The vertical scale is the position of the lap time and the horizontal scale is the date and time when the lap time was made. Click on the image to open the full scale GIF animation.

The TTS is a virtual racing championship for Gran Turismo 5, on the Playstation 3. In the TTS you form a team, either on your own or together with some friends, and during the season you try to collect as many points as possible in the various championships.

The TTS is a mixed grid, with two different classes competing at the same time, the class A and class B. The mix of classes will add some more drama to the race; drivers in the more powerful class A cars must take into account that there will be slower traffic on the track and calculate their driving with that in mind. Drivers of the class B must keep an eye in the rear view mirror, and give room for the A class drivers without offering another class B car a free pass.

The TTS wishes to encourage clean and fair racing, and to do so there are a number of rules and regulations, which the teams and their drivers must follow. Failure to do so might result in anything from a stop and go penalty to point deduction in the championship, and for severe violations even exclusion from the series.
